New Playgroup Schedule

Due to busy schedules and cooler temperatures, playgroup will be meeting only 1 Tuesday a month until spring. We will generally meet the first Tuesday of the month - but check the schedule to be sure. (Example: For December we are meeting on the 2nd Tuesday.)

If you have any fun ideas or specific requests for playgroup activities - please leave a comment. See you at playgroup!

Fall Festival!

This donation grants your child access to all carnival games and includes a small popcorn and lemonade.

(We are collecting nutritious snacks that do not require refrigeration to donate to Taylor Elementary 's backpack program which provides healthy snacks for children who have very little to eat over the weekend. Appropriate snack donations include granola bars, cheese and crackers, dried fruit or nuts. )

RS Retreat

Some glimpses from our fun mountain retreat!

Glamour shots from the cabin...

I was wondering who fed Brigg dinner. Thanks Cheryl!

Paradise Hills Ward's youngest RS sister...

The little feral forest child who wandered into camp the first night. We fed him, or, rather, he fed himself - so he was there to stay. Good thing he's a cute little fella...

All smiles for dinnertime...

I WAS going to fix the red eye, and then - I thought it was more appropriate to leave it. Great look ladies!

Our fabulous speaker, Melanie, and our generous hostess - Julie.

Chowing down on dutch oven goodness...

Sister Bennion lamenting something? Perhaps her sock choice?? :)

"I said, DO NOT TAKE MY PICTURE OR ELSE!" Or else what Buzzie??
Thanks to everyone who went and made it such a great weekend. Can't wait till next year!

Pool Par-ty

As we left the "Bailey Fun House and Pool" today after another awesome swim party, Troy said "Hey Mom, maybe we could buy this house."

Yeah maybe, if we win the lottery or something.

Until then, THANK YOU Kathy for sharing your family's sweet digs with the playgroup!

Curious George

Hey! The boys and I are not going to make the movie today, just in case anyone checks this before they go. We had a LATE night last night and Brigg is still sleeping as I type this. So no Curious George for us - hope you have fun anyway!

Ward Party

We had a great time at the ward party last night!
There was lots of chit chat,

lounging on the grass,

and, of course eating!

The water balloons proved entertaining

and very difficult to catch without getting wet!

Thanks for coming to our ward party!
Hope to see you at the next one!

Trike/Scooter Rodeo!

Hi Everyone!

Melissa posted on the side about our upcoming playgroup, but I wanted to just make sure you all knew what you are getting into!

We thought it would be fun for our little ones to bring their trikes or push scooters and come into the cultural hall (GYM) and ride around out of the heat! We will set up cones (or something of that sort) to make a circular track so as to avoid collisions- safety first, right?

(We may post Stop/Go signs on Melissa's front and back so that every time she turns around the kids get a new direction to follow!)

Unfortunately, for the BIG kids who ride two wheelers, those bikes are a little to big and fast for our small track, so we are limiting to just trikes, big wheels, that sort of thing and scooters! And moms will get to mingle in the middle!

So, round up your wheels and water bottles, if you need, and head on over to the church building on Tuesday, July 14 at 10:00 am and spend the morning burning off some energy!

See you there! And be sure to call a friend and tell them about this in case they haven't seen this blog!

Fun at Bounce U

Playing on the air filled equipment, in the air conditioned building, with friends.
What could be better than that?
So much fun on a hot summer day!

Playgroup Plans

Hello!

I bet some of you are wondering what the plan is for this playgroup - and what happened with the Hills Playgroup. Basically, the playgroup outgrew me and the time I wanted to devote to it. It really was so fun, but started taking more and more of my time planning activities and coordinating with Emily and started being not quite so fun anymore.

Actually -I was still having a pretty good time, but my boys sometimes weren't - since Mommy can get pretty distracted running an activity and not paying attention to them. :( Also, I felt like I was obligated to go to playgroup every single week - and while I usually love that, sometimes we have things come up and can't go. And then I would feel guilty that I had missed it.

So I decided to focus on a smaller playgroup and share the planning responsibilities with some of the moms in my ward who typically attend playgroup. Right now, those moms are Laura Allen, Jennifer Folk and Kathy Allen. The great thing about this scenario is that if these particular moms can't or don't want to do playgroup anymore (like if all their kids are in school or they are just too busy...), then we can easily ask someone else to help plan activities. And by each of us just doing one week a month, hopefully none of us will get burnt out or overwhelmed and it will be fun for everyone!

If you have suggestions for future playgroups - please share them with one of us. And please feel free to invite your friends or family to playgroup, we would love to have them! Just don't invite the whole stake, OK?

See you at playgroup!
