Paradise Hills Playgroup: August 2009

Shake, Rattle & Drum!

Is your child interested in music? Linda Davis is teaching Shake, Rattle & Drum, a beginning drumming and percussion class for 8 to 11 year old students beginning August 31st. The cost is $45 a month and classes will be held on Mondays from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m. at Foothills Montessori School (1401 Amador Lane, Henderson 89012. Horizon Ridge and Stephanie are the closest cross streets.)

Students will learn to play a wide variety of drums like congas, bongos, djembe. Mallet technique will also be taught on xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels. A perfect way for your child to learn how to focus and listen while having tons of fun!

Also available is an Advanced Drumming & Percussion class - Mondays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Cost is also $45/mo. and will be taught at Foothills Montessori School Multipurpose Room.
For grades 3 - 7. This is a continuation of last year's drumming class. Newcomers must audition first.

If interested in either of these classes, please call Linda Davis at 469-8404 (cell) or 565-6739 (home). Linda is the music specialist at FMS and teaches 3 year olds through 8th graders.

Why have this blog?

1. The main purpose is to provide information in advance about where & when our playgroup activities will be, so you can plan ahead and plan on coming!

2. We will also post feedback (and probably pictures) from activities to discuss the good and even the not-so-good about a particular event.

3. This forum can also be used to post information about fun events coming up, home taught preschools or musical lessons, or other kid related activities in our area.

No Playgroup this week!

Hello All!

We hope everyone has had a fun summer! Can you believe the new school year is starting already?!? Well, we have had lots of fun with playgroup and have had many great activities. We are going to take a break for this week as families with kids in school get back into their routines. Also, the Relief Society retreat is this weekend and hopefully many of you are planning to attend some portion of that! It will be great!

So, join us in saying goodbye to summer and we'll be back soon with more fun playgroup activities! Yea Fall, cooler temps, changing colors (sort of) and harvest fun!

Pool Par-ty

As we left the "Bailey Fun House and Pool" today after another awesome swim party, Troy said "Hey Mom, maybe we could buy this house."

Yeah maybe, if we win the lottery or something.

Curious George

Hey! The boys and I are not going to make the movie today, just in case anyone checks this before they go. We had a LATE night last night and Brigg is still sleeping as I type this. So no Curious George for us - hope you have fun anyway!
